Calamandrana, the heart of the Monferrato, declared Unesco‘s World Heritage Site

Cantine Adelaide are located in Calamandrana, in the heart of the Monferrato which has been declared Unesco’s World Heritage Site.
The historical building dates back to 1866, when Adelaide Dughera and Giuseppe Rondanina began the construction of the dwelling. Then the underground cellars were used for the aging of Piedmontese wines.

Mrs Adelaide Dughera, who was an emancipated and determined woman, devoted herself to the production and the promotion of the typical wines like Barbera and Dolcetto.
Near the secular building there is the modern factory of the winery. Here the processing of the grapes takes place, from crushing to bottling.

Massimo and Maria Cristina started this adventure a few years ago, after developing different experiences. Massimo has worked with passion and dedication in this area, after his enological studies. Accuracy and determination have always been the main qualities of his work. MariaCristina has become interested in wines thanks to her granddad, Pietro. He made genuine wine with grapes from “Garbazzola“ vineyard since the 1960s until some years ago. All the members of our family took part in the harvest with cheerfulness and carefree. Wines were kept in the “crotin”, little cellars dug in the tuff.

Their daughter Federica takes care of the hospitality and welcomes the guests.

Quality and genuineness

Our winery makes wines with the same commitment of a time, ensuring the genuineness and quality of its products.
The refinement into barriques, which are in the historical cellars, occures  at  a  controlled temperature and gives to the wine unique scents and hints.
